Macworld 2004

January 6th, 2004

I waited all day, at about 12:00 the tech crew at work all gathered around to check out the Macworld 2004 expo. I was very jealous, but I had actual work to do and couldn't blow off an hour and a half in the middle of the day. When I got home, I ran immediately and changed into my jammies and sat down to watch the streaming keynote address.

I am proud to announce that this was the most boring MWSF yet. After all of the rumors about an iBox, iPod Video Player, iWrite, iPhone, G5 Powerbooks, and new displays to match the G5 desktops, all we got were some updated iApps, G5 Xserve, and the iPod mini.

I was so let down. I was hoping at least a few more of the rumors would have been true, but nada. The only rumor that came true that seemed interesting was the iPod mini, but it is way over priced at $250. Apple really missed the boat for their 20th anniversary.

But the real date of the 20th anniversary hasn't rolled around yet. They may still have something up their sleeve. Or they may be waiting to unveil it at the Superbowl.

Just looking to keep you in suspense.

Yeah, I agree with all that. The only good news is that I am saving money by not feeling compelled to buy anything from them right this second.
