European Shipping

February 17th, 2004

Apparently cassette tapes are still popular in Europe. I got two questions today, one from Germany and one from Sweden regarding my eBay auctions. They want to know how much shipping would be for the two collections.

I don't know if I really want to deal with it though. Shipping is gonna be somewhere in the $16 to $20 range, but I would be required to fill out customs forms, and actually go to the post office to ship the boxes.

Any advice on shipping to europe, customs, and possible tariffs would be greatly appreciated.

your estimate on shipping costs is accurate. i've shipped stuff to my friend in iraq and to our cousin while in germany, and it simply requires you to fill out a customs form. it's no problem, and there is no tax to mail to a foreign country -- just postage. you do list on your ebay site that you would ship in the USA only, so this may be an excuse for you to not sell it to them or to charge them a "service fee" for your efforts at having to go to the post office.
