Cancel Your Netflix Account Here - Not

Last February I posted a story about my experience with the Netfilx Cancellation procedures. As I said then "Netflix was really cool about the cancellation. They have a link on the site where I could cancel ...".

Since then I have received several (three comments currently on the site, and several emails) requests from people trying to cancel their accounts.

Today I got another email:

"Need to cancel my Netflix account. There is no answer at phone number 1-800 279-5688. Please help."

What is wrong with these people? Didn't they read the page? It is obviously not a cancellation service for netflix, nor does it look anything like a Netflix page. I realize that many people must go to my page, I am the number one google search term for Netflix cancellation after all, but most must realize that THIS IS OBVIOUSLY THE WRONG PLACE TO CANCEL YOUR NETFLIX ACCOUNT.

I hope that those who did post on my site finally realized that they made a mistake and found the proper channels, but I do have to laugh each time a get one of these requests.

This page will probably become the number two page on Google for canceling netflix accounts so I'm gonna add this nice red tag line at the bottom of this story to see if we can dissuade people from trying to cancel here. If I get one I will have to laugh even harder.

    However, I am sad that you would cancel Netflix. It's my beloved friend.

    By the way, I also think it's very cute that "Mom" is the most frequent visitor to your blog. Moms are great.

    Cool site: I don't think it matters where you go on the net to cancel Netflix. It's not like its actually possible to cancel Netflix. You would think a service oriented product would provide some service.

    Isn't it funny how many people think this is a netflix site. I don't see how this could happen but it is very humorous.
