Taco Bell Sauce Cleans Pennies

September 26th, 2004

I took a trip down to the local Taco Bell this afternoon to steal some mild sauce and try out Michael's experiment. Unfortunately, the Taco bell must have been onto the scam, because they moved the sauce behind the counter and I was forced to purchase something to get my hands on the magic sauce.

After receiving my food I asked for some mild sauce, although reportedly you can use hot sauce too, and the cashier gave my no less than eight packets for my two crispy tacos. I would have probably only taken three if the sauce was available to the general public, but I guess giving out four packets per taco and depriving the rest of the world of sauce is the best way The Bell can save some coin.

After fifteen minutes and six mild sauce packets (two went on the tacos) I am happy to report that the experiment was a success. Taco Bell sauce does clean pennies, although I should warn you not to eat the sauce after you clean a penny with it.

for sake of accuracy, i think you should report that you didn't try michael's entire experiment... just the taco bell part.

I stand corrected, Tara is right. I did not make trips to McDonald's, Jack in the Crack, or Burger King. I also did not try out the tomato sauce or Tabasco, but I did experiment with vinegar and salt (it also works, but not as fun).

Additionally, my favorite saying on the Taco Bell sauce was "How many of these do you have in your glove box?".

does taco bell still carry the muchaco? remember that beautiful thing? it was a regular hard tortilla with the fixin's on it, wrapped in a soft tortilla, with a layer of beans and cheese between the two. ahh, it was so nice.

Taco Bueno has the Muchaco®, I think your talking about Taco Bell's Double Decker Taco®, a much healthier alternative.
